How Do I Use Wonderfile?
Wonderfile works just like an emery board, however it isn't abrasive on the skin.
Expert tips:
- It is best to file in one direction to give better control and reduce friction.
- Try filing your little one’s nails after a bath, when nails are at their softest.
- Wonderfile is smooth and silent, so you can try and do your little one’s nails while they sleep (especially if they tend to be wiggle worms!).
- If your Wonderfile is damaged or chipped, do not use it. Please discard.
Who can use Wonderfile?
Wonderfile has been specifically designed for use on babies and children.
However, technically it can be used from ages 0-100... nothing stopping the adults from joining in on the fun too!
Can I wash my Wonderfile?
Yes! Wonderfile can be washed and reused, on repeat.
Simply rinse your file under warm, soapy water to remove nail dust. You can gently clean the surface with a sponge if needed. Presto, good as new.
Do I need to sterilise my Wonderfile?
The glass doesn't absorb any particles, so provided there is only one child using it, there is no need to sterilise your file after each use.
For general hygiene, it is safe to sterilise your file in hot water or disinfectant.
Why should I choose Wonderfile over other options?
No scissors, no blades, no trimmers. No risk of cuts or bleeding. For our founder, that was reason enough!
The fact that Wonderfile is premium quality, reusable and Australian owned, is just the cherry on the cake.
My Wonderfile isn't working as well as before. Why?
With regular use, nail dust collects on the filing surface. This is normal. Give the file a wash in warm, soapy water and it will be good as new.
How do I care for my Wonderfile?
Here are some tips to help you take the best care of your nail file:
- Even though Wonderfile is made of high quality European tempered glass, try and avoid dropping it in the chance that it could break.
- When carrying Wonderfile in your handbag, always use the protective casing to help prevent accidental breakage.
- Store Wonderfile in a clean, dry place.
- If your Wonderfile is chipped or broken, do not use it. Please discard.
Is Wonderfile Safe?
Wonderfile has been designed for use on babies and children. There are no sharp or abrasive surfaces. The files are made from premium quality glass that is lead free. They are hypoallergenic. They have passed AUS/NZ ISO 8124.3:2021 safety testing standards (each colour has been tested and passed).
Remember, Wonderfile is NOT a toy and should not be handled by minors or used as a play item. It is to be used by adults only. It is made of glass and should be handled with care to prevent breaks or chips. It should be kept out of reach of babies and children. If Wonderfile is chipped or broken, it should not be used and it needs to be replaced.
About Wonderfile:
Wonderfile was created by a Melbourne GP and mum who struggled to care for her daughter's nails in a way that felt safe, effective and sustainable.
As a GP, she saw first hand the impact poor nail care can have on paediatric health: eczema exacerbated by scratching; infected ingrown nails due to poor trimming; corneal abrasions (scratches to the eye) from baby claws; and of course concerned parents who have accidentally cut their child's skin using nail cutters.
As a parent, she experienced the issue on a whole new level. The amount of stress behind a routine caregiving task did not feel right!
She wanted to find an answer to this parenting dilemma and dedicated naptimes to solving it. Wonderfile was created, and she truly hopes that it can make a difference to other Australian families.
